La Belle Époque Bohémien in Nové Město, Prague
A distinctive house in the style of historicism with an Art Nouveau relief of a women with dog on the facade of the 5th floor by the architect Jan Petrák. The naturalist Václav Jan Staněk lived on the 5th floor and he photographed most of the animals for his books on the balcony.
The painter Václav Kiml had a studio on the 6th floor. It’s still interesting to notice the original lettering typeface for box letter and address signage. It’s Nové Město during “La belle époque v Praze”.
